According to a survey by a leading staffing company, nearly half of the applicant lied on their resume. That’s nearly 26% rise from 2011. Nearly 50% of the employers think that the new applicant might be dishonest in presenting things in his resume. And nearly 30% of the companies rejected an applicant after discovering their lies.
Due to high competition in all the sectors in India, applicant starts to list different things in the resume that might not be true in order to get the job or to stand out against the rest. People usually lie in the resume -to show themselves different in the pool of applicants and to get a higher pay too.
Don’t be “creative” while writing you resume. Chances are your company will fish you out.
For instance, if you were an assistant manager at your previous job and then in the resume you show it as manager your chances of getting shortlisted may be higher and can get a higher pay too. For many people this might be apt but, there are a lot of consequences to it. You might end up behind bars for doing so.
So, now a days the traditional way of verification does not work the way it used to before. Hence, a complete resume verification is a must. People usually lie about their experience, their education and even the additional courses, so as to improve their image in the minds of the hiring authority. Now for your bad luck if the company has adopted to check the resume before hiring and you have tinkered in writing your resume you will be thrown out for it.

People lie according to their levels, for instances a courier delivery boy may lie to show he can deliver fast in a particular area. While it comes to senior level managers, they usually lie about their education qualification, twisting dates about their past employments as it might not be easily verified. But now it is not easy to cheat employers easily anymore. They thoroughly screen applicants after selection and even cancel employments for any found apparent mishaps.
So, if you think of boasting your resume with the help of fake education and other such practices then you know the answer. Chances are you might end up losing your job!
